should Persepolis be read in schools
Abraham Vasquez
11/13/13 Persepolis
Block 2
Persepolis shows reality. (Page 19, panel 7) Marjane father tells the the truth about the shah, that he was not pick by god. That shows how Marjane father talked about the true story of shah.. It is clear that Persepolis should not ban from schools, because It shows realties. Johan Bennett idea is to ban the book from high schools or all school’s for that matter. She said, “It contain crass language, graphic violence, torture, sexual content, lewd humor, an instance of suicide, and other images that are not appropriate.” That show’s why her idea of the book Persepolis should not be read in school.
Persepolis should not ban from schools, because it shows reality. Reality tells the truth and the truth is a great thing to know. The truth is a good lesson to share to teens and a great thing to do. Therefore persepoli is a good book to read because it shows lessons.
In the graphic novel Persepolis is Marjane Satrapi explains her life in Iran and tells her story of her life. Johan Bennett is chief executive officer, SMJUHSD and she said that Persepolis is not a good book to read in class at school, but force’s at 10th grade the most. Persepolis should not be ban from schools, because It shows reality.
Bennett’s argument that Persepolis should not be read in school, its wrong it should be read in schools. Yet she said, “It a comic book not a novel,” but it does not feel like comic book it feel like a novel when you read it. Persepolis is a good book to read and talks about history of Iran (pg 11, p 2). That page shows the history of Iran and shows who was it and why. Its important to now what happen in other countries, and help us understands what there going though.
Bennett only sees that this book is bad, sexual, and a bad role model, but doesn’t see the lesson of the book. The book Persepolis shows life lessons, like girl that does not know how to be herself, and show’s how kid act when they get older , but mostly show how you’ll act without your mom and dad, and to get mad at you when you do something bad. In (45.6) shows Marjane mom telling her “what would you say if I nailed your ears to the wall.” That says how you would feel to walk in other people shoes. The lesson of the book is life lessons that your mom and dad show you.

Antigone and Creon comparison
Sophocles has written the story of Antigone. The story is about Antigone and Creon, about loyalty and the proudness that ruin their lives.
This paragraph will show how Antigone and Creon are loyal to. Antigone was loyal to her family. Antigone says, in (p. 57) say, ‘’But I will bury him, and if I must die.’’ This shows that Antigone will bury any of his family, even if it leads to death. Antigone is also loyal to the gods. In (scene 2), Antigone said that rules the world below make no such laws. That means the rules that people make is nothing compare to the gods rules. The differences of Antigone and Creon said, ‘‘tried to loot their temples, burn their image, yes, and whole state, and its law with it.’’ What Creon said and want his people to do, it show that he cares for his law and if a god broke his law he will destroy their things. Creon is not loyal to his family. In (scene 1), ‘’Slavery-Polyneice. I say is to have no burial.’’ This shows that Creon wont burial his family that is Polyneice.
There are many similarities between Antigone and Creon of their pride. First similarity Antigone said, ‘Creon is not strong enough to stand in my way,’’ (page 816,line 36). This shows that Antigone is prideful, because she says that she is stronger than Creon and he can’t ever stop her. When Antigone buried her brother, she followed the god’s law and if she didn’t bury her brother, she wanted to die, because she couldn’t live with herself. This example shows that she takes pride in following the gods laws and if she fails what she wanted to do, she would rather die and that shows lots of pride. Creon said, ‘has had contempt for my law and broken it.’’(Page 840,line 270) What he said shows that he has pride on the law that he make and hate anybody that has broken it. Creon got a warning that if he didn’t let Antigone go, flesh of your own flesh will die, but he didn’t let her go. Creon has so much pride that his son and wife die. Having too much pride can kill you or the people around you.
This story shows what can happen with lots of pride and loyalty. Creon and Antigone clearly didn’t want to listen to reason.

My testimony about how god affected my life. PART 1 (fc)
My blog post is going to be about my testimony, about how god affected my life.
Frist you should know how’s my life now. My dad is a pastor in a Spanish church called Palabra Miel; my dad has been pastoring for about more then 13 years. My dad is from Guatemala and my mom is from Mexico. So my brothers and I are GuateMex its a little joke that we like to say when they ask us where are we from.
So my dad and mom weren’t Christians until my older brother was one year old. My mom went to church first in Oxnard, then my dad. I’m glad that my dad found god, because ill be living in Guatemala right now. My dad and mom took many risk by going to church, when they didn’t have enough money or gas to go back, or even when the breaks of my dads car didn’t work. My dad was into church and nothing stopped him, he even joined the sound system, and then started directing music, and starts leading discipleship.
The brothers and sisters from the church saw that god has something for him in his life. One day the pastor from the church of Oxnard said to my dad that the church in Santa Maria needs a pastor, so with no houses, no money, and no job; we lived in Santa Maria.

My Autobiography
Hi my name is Abraham Vasquez before high school. I was born in Ventura I move here when I was 4 years old. I moved Santa Maria because my dad became a pastor he’s still is one today. If my dad didn’t go to church ill be right now in Guatemala, which should have been my future, but a good thing it wasn’t.
I went to Alvin school home of the stars it used to be, but I went for kindergarten and second grade. Then I went to Rice elementary school for first grade, and third though sixth grade. I went to Felser Jr high school, but I didn’t like going to school not like high school.
My present life is, I got two brothers, the oldest one is name Pablo, the youngest one is David, and I am the middle one. My dad and mom have been married for more then 20 years. For summer my family went to Las Vegas, for 2 day and when we’re there my dad got a new truck. My family and the youth from my church went to Ontario for a youth retreat for 3 days. Today I am getting ready to go to the general retreat in about less then half of a day. I am looking forward to it, but maybe the people that are reading it might have past already.
What I want to do in my future is to weld. Right now I have a welding class in high school and advance welding in my 3rd term. I want to go to Hancock College to weld. I don’t know what else I want to do, but maybe when the time comes I will. I think I would take a class of black smithing just for fun. I hope thing work out for me. Thank you for reading my autobiography.
